AN EXACT ON-FIELD CAP WORN BY THE GRAYS IN 1939
History: An undeniable powerhouse club, the Homestead Grays won nine consecutive league titles and three Negro World Series championships from 1937 to ‘48. In 1931, the Grays prolific lineup featured five future Hall of Famers. In 1939, the Grays won one of six consecutive Negro National League pennants, playing home games in Washington s Griffith Stadium.
A reproduction of the on-field cap worn by the Grays in 1939, this ballcap is made with genuine wool broadcloth and finished with a felt “G” on the front, just like back in the day. Like everything we make at Ebbets, this cap has period-correct materials and lettering, crafting a tribute to those who came before us the best way we know how.
